A William Blake Paperback, Unacted Desires: Years Ago
"Sooner murder an infant in its cradle than nurse unacted desires."
Your trembling finger traced along that line
And laid a swaddled baby at my feet
Half-maddened within your electric eyes
My breathless bloodlust wouldn't let me speak
So tongueless, scared, I left the child - alive
And of course, you never know what is enough
ReplyDeleteUnless you know what is more than enough.
Did he who wrote "The Lamb", truly frame thee,
Thou tyger burning bright midst darkened leaves?
An etching stain on paper, deep and rough.
