A Hundred Flowers

An idea is planted
A well-meaning untruth
It flourishes - it is spoken
And its speaker rewarded
Handsomely by the hands of
Our generous leader
As they bore towards the truth
That's cruelly locked inside
With gentle flagellation
Kind removal of burdensome tooth and muscle
Until that hidden truth blooms from the flesh
Billowing from the happy holes:
Breaths and blood
"Our glorious way is the only way"
Truth pools on the friendly floor
And the speaker is kissed by quietude
He beholds the great wonder of true freedom
